Texas /ˈtɛksəs/ (Spanish: Texas or Tejas [ˈtexas]) is a state in the United States of America. It is the second most populous and second largest state by area in the US. Geographically located in the south central part of the country, Texas shares an international border with Mexico to the south and borders the states of New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2) and a growing population of over 27.5 million residents (July 2015).
Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States, while San Antonio is the second largest in the state and seventh largest in the United States. Dallas–Fort Worth and Greater Houston are the fourth and fifth largest United States metropolitan statistical areas, respectively. Other major cities include Austin (the state capital) and El Paso. Texas is nicknamed the Lone Star State to signify Texas as a former independent republic, and as a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can be found on the Texan state flag and on the Texan state seal. The origin of the state name, Texas, is from the word, "Tejas", which means 'friends' in the Caddo language.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the domestic intelligence and security service of the United States, which simultaneously serves as the nation's prime Federal law enforcement organization. Operating under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Justice, FBI is concurrently a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community and reports to both the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence. A leading U.S. counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative organization, FBI has jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes.
Although many of FBI's functions are unique, its activities in support of national security are comparable to those of the British MI5 and the Russian FSB. Unlike the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which has no law enforcement authority and is focused on intelligence collection overseas, FBI is primarily a domestic agency, maintaining 56 field offices in major cities throughout the United States, and more than 400 resident agencies in lesser cities and areas across the nation. At an FBI field office, a senior-level FBI officer concurrently serves as the representative of the Director of National Intelligence.
FBI agents have gotten hold of the cell phone belonging to the gunman who killed 26 people in a Texas church on Sunday. Christopher Combs, the special agent leading the investigation into the shooting, told reporters on Tuesday, "They're in the process of looking at the phone. Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to get into that phone." Investigators are hoping the phone contains clues that could help explain Devin Kelley's motive. The FBI's inability to gain access into Kelley's phone recalled the agency's dispute with Apple. That dispute came in the aftermath of the 2015 mass shooting in San Bernardino, California. http://www.businessinsider.com/fbi-phone-texas-church-shooter-devin-kelley-2017-11 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit....

Fault Lines travels to South Carolina to investigate the epidemic of domestic violence homicide, and whether weak laws are putting women's lives at risk. The mass shootings in Littleton, Newtown, and the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard have become a rallying cry for gun control in America. Yet, on average, every day across the country at least three women are killed by intimate partners, the majority shot to death. Guns and domestic violence are a lethal combination in the U.S. In many states, domestic abusers can easily evade federal background checks by ordering a gun online, purchasing it at a gun show, or buying it from a private seller. Even when public outrage pushed the gun control debate to center stage, the U.S. Senate blocked a federal proposal to expand background checks for gun pu...
